Can you drive a car without a windshield?

One day, I was so astonished that a person drove a junk car which did not have a windshield in winter!! Of course, the car was not a convertible car! Also, it was on freeway and snowing and night time!! My friend suddenly pinched my cheek because he thought it was a dream.  And we opened car window, we just wanted to know driver’s feeling, but we could not stand to open the windows, even thought it was less than a minute. Our best solution was that he is made by Detroit (because we could not find any other words or answer why he could drive like this). Don’t you think so?
Anyway, in my country, it is legally responsibility that Japanese periodically has their car inspected by a qualified mechanic at a garage.   However, the U.S. is different that maintenance your car is your responsibility. So, here is a question that do you know how to change flat tire?

Getting a flat tire happens frequently in our automobile life. At least we had better know how to change a flat tire. It will help if this pressing matter happens.

Tools needed: spare tire, jack, lug wrench.

Step1: Park your Car on Flat Ground

When you get a flat tire on the road, park your car as far away from traffic as possible. Make sure to turn on the emergency brake.
Step2: Unfasten the Nuts

Take out your spare tire, jack, and lug wrench from the trunk. Loosen the nuts up by turning them counterclockwise. Loosen them just a few times, but do not take them off completely.

Step3: Jack Up

Put the jack underneath your car and look over your owner’s manual for the proper placement of the jack. Start cranking the jack when the tire is high enough and then remove the lug nuts from the wheel.

Step4: Change the Flat Tire to Spare Tire

Take the spare tire and line up the lugs and bolts with the holes in the wheel and slide the wheel on. After finishing this, take the lug nuts and tighten by hand.

Step5: Lower the Car and Finish Tightening the Lug Nuts

Let down the jack until the wheel is on the ground. The nuts must be super tight to safety driving, so there are methods of fastening the nuts.  Start with any lug nut and then follow this pattern:

Before you get in an emergency situation, I strongly recommend to practice this process once. It will help your emergency situation.  I hope this information will help when you get a flat tire.
